At the Gulf Vision 2026 Forum held in Paris, Saudi Arabia underscored substantial investment opportunities within its mining and industrial sectors, aiming to draw enhanced participation from France and Europe in the Kingdom’s economic overhaul. Khalid Al-Mudaifer addressed the forum, highlighting the advancements under the Vision 2030 initiative, and stressed the increasing significance of mining as a foundational element of Saudi Arabia’s economy.
The Kingdom’s mineral assets are valued at over $2.5 trillion, encompassing extensive deposits of precious metals such as gold, copper, and zinc, as well as phosphates, aluminum, and rare earth elements. Saudi Arabia is actively working to broaden its mineral exploration efforts, bolster downstream industries, and establish comprehensive industrial value chains designed to sustain long-term economic growth.
During the forum, Saudi representatives engaged in discussions with French government officials and prominent mining companies, focusing on investment prospects, technology exchange, sustainable mining practices, and the potential for joint ventures. These interactions aimed to forge collaborations that would further integrate European expertise and technology into Saudi Arabia’s mining sector.
Saudi Arabia also brought attention to its recent reforms intended to cultivate an appealing investment climate. These include revised regulations, a range of incentives for international investors, and strategic initiatives to localize mining technologies while nurturing skilled national talents. Such reforms are part of the Kingdom’s broader strategy to make mining a cornerstone of its economic diversification efforts.
By fortifying mining’s role within global supply chains and advanced manufacturing, Saudi Arabia aims to enhance its economic resilience and growth prospects. The Kingdom remains committed to positioning itself as a leading player in the global mining industry, ensuring that its natural resources contribute significantly to its economic future.
