In a concerted effort to enhance digital well-being and ensure technology is utilized responsibly, Saudi Arabia has unveiled a series of four new initiatives. These initiatives were introduced by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, commonly known as Ithra. They form part of a broader memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing the digital sustainability ecosystem within the nation.
The newly launched programs are set to delve into the impacts of digital technologies on both individuals and society at large. This will be achieved through a combination of research, academic endeavors, and various studies. To further elevate awareness regarding digital well-being, the initiatives will also encompass workshops conducted in partnership with international organizations.
A key goal of these initiatives is to foster an environment of knowledge sharing, enabling more informed technology-related decision-making. This, in turn, is expected to aid the formulation of policies that support the responsible and sustainable application of digital technologies.
These strategic efforts are in alignment with the broader aims of Saudi Vision 2030, a national initiative dedicated to constructing a more sustainable society that is digitally advanced. By focusing on responsible technology use, the initiatives underscore the country’s commitment to achieving a balance between technological growth and societal well-being.
