by admin477351

In July, Arab stock markets experienced a notable surge in trading activity, with a 28.82% increase in the volume of shares traded compared to June. This uptick brought the total trading volume to 261.86 billion shares, up from 203.27 billion the previous month. The Iraq Stock Exchange played a significant role in driving this growth, followed by Egypt. Despite this increase in trading volume, the overall value of transactions saw a decline.

The total value of transactions dropped by 16.82%, falling to $90.24 billion in July from $108.48 billion in June. This decrease was observed in several major markets, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait. The mixed performance of regional stock markets was evident, although Egypt’s EGX30 index stood out as a strong performer with a gain of 5.85% over the month.

While some regional exchanges recorded gains, the overall performance of Arab equity markets was varied. Nevertheless, the combined market capitalization across Arab stock exchanges remained largely unchanged, with a slight increase of 0.06% to approximately $4.31 trillion. This stability in market capitalization reflects the complex dynamics in the region’s financial markets.

The mixed results indicate that while trading activity increased, the reduced transaction values suggest cautious investor sentiment in some areas. The situation highlights the diverse economic landscape across the Arab markets, where different factors and regional circumstances influence stock market performance.

Overall, the figures reveal a landscape of heightened trading activity across Arab markets during July, albeit with varying transaction values and performances among key exchanges. This scenario underscores the intricate balance of market forces at play in these regions, shaping the financial outlook amid evolving economic conditions.
