Robert Pattinson is set to take on a gripping role in the upcoming thriller “Primetime,” a film that draws its inspiration from the controversial American TV series “To Catch a Predator.” Set to debut at the Venice Film Festival, this dark narrative will soon make its way to theaters by the end of the month.

In the film, Pattinson embodies a fictionalized version of Chris Hansen, the television personality known for confronting alleged child predators by having them meet with undercover agents posing as minors. Hansen, who gained notoriety for his investigative confrontations, has reportedly commended Pattinson’s performance, though he has hinted at potential legal action concerning the movie’s portrayal.

“Primetime” also marks a significant milestone for Pattinson, as it is the first feature film where he holds a producer credit through his own production company. The project is helmed by director Lance Oppenheim, who, at 30, brings a fresh perspective to the film. It is produced by the independent studio A24, known for its bold and creative cinematic ventures.

In addition to this role, Pattinson has enjoyed a successful year at the box office. He starred alongside Zendaya in “The Drama” and took part in “The Odyssey.” Fans can also anticipate his return to the big screen in the third installment of the “Dune” franchise, slated for release later this year.

As “Primetime” gears up to compete at the Venice Film Festival, it stands as one of the prominent films in contention, showcasing Pattinson’s versatility and continued evolution as both an actor and a producer.
